Idea — Prediction activates top-down processing and reduces cognitive load. Give learners the topic and task before playing anything. They arrive at the text with expectations already working.

Example — Before a job-interview listening: ‘What questions do interviewers usually ask? Tell a partner.’ Then play the recording.

Try — Add 60 seconds of prediction to your next listening lesson before pressing play. Notice whether comprehension improves.
