Idea — A strong gist question has one correct answer that requires the whole text — not a detail pulled from the first line.
Example — ‘Does the writer think social media is harmful?’ needs the full argument. ‘Who is the writer?’ does not.
Try — Draft a gist question for any text. Test it: can it be answered from the title alone? If yes, rewrite it.
