ELT365 · Day 160 — Listening for Specific Information
Idea — Scanning in listening means ignoring most of the audio and catching only the target item — a number, a name, a date. It is a real-world skill.
Example — Catching a flight number from a departure announcement — everything else is noise. The skill is filtering, not processing the whole text.
Try — Play a weather forecast. Task one: find only temperatures. Task two: find only the days of the week. Notice how focus changes what you hear.
