ELT365 · Day 157 — Jigsaw Listening: One Text, Two Groups

Idea — In a jigsaw listening task, different learners hear different parts of the same recording. They must exchange information to rebuild the full meaning. The gap creates a genuine reason to speak.

Example — Group A hears the first half of a short interview; Group B hears the second. Each group answers its own questions, then pairs to reconstruct the complete account.

Try — Choose a recording that splits cleanly into two parts. Write one short task sheet for each half. Plan the share phase as a timed speaking task, not a free chat.
