ELT365 · Day 155 — Listening for specific information

June 23, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — Here learners scan a stream of speech for particular items — a price, a time, a name — and ignore the rest. The task narrows attention, which lowers anxiety.

Example — At a station, you wait for your platform number and tune out the rest of the announcement; that is selective listening.

Try — Write three find-the-fact questions (a number, a name, a place) for an audio your class will hear. Set them before pressing play.
