ELT365 · D165 — Dictogloss: Grammar Through Listening

July 13, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — Dictogloss: play a short text at natural speed, twice. Learners note key words (not full sentences). Then reconstruct the text in pairs — in their own words.

Example — A 60-word paragraph is played twice at natural speed. Learners reconstruct collaboratively. The aim is meaning, not verbatim accuracy.

Try — Choose a 60–80 word text. Play it twice at natural speed. Give learners 5 minutes to reconstruct in pairs. Compare: where did meaning shift?
