Idea — Listening for specific information mimics real-life listening: train announcements, order confirmations, phone calls. The listener needs one piece of information and ignores the rest.
Example — ‘What is the departure platform?’ — the listener scans the announcement, locks on the number, ignores the rest.
Try — Record a one-minute monologue containing five facts. Ask learners to find only two. Notice how quickly they switch off once they have what they need.
