ELT365 · Day 269 — Planning a Skills Lesson

July 13, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea

A skills lesson (reading, listening, speaking, writing) follows a different shape from a language-systems lesson. Lead-in → task stages → productive follow-up — not PPP.

Example

Reading lesson: lead-in → pre-teach two blocking words → gist task → detail task → speaking response to the text.

Try

Plan a 50-minute reading lesson. Write explicit task rubrics for the gist and detail stages before you look at the text.
