ELT365 · Day 250 — Anticipated Problems — Language

July 12, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea

Before teaching, predict where learners will struggle with the target language: meaning confusion, form errors, or pronunciation difficulty.

Example

For ‘used to’: learners may confuse it with ‘be used to doing’. Anticipate this and prepare a contrast example before the lesson.

Try

For your next target language item, write three anticipated problems — one for meaning, one for form, one for pronunciation.
