Idea — Dictation is often dismissed as old-fashioned, but it activates listening, spelling, punctuation, and grammatical knowledge simultaneously. Dictogloss makes it genuinely productive.

Example — In dictogloss, learners hear a short text twice, note key words only, then reconstruct the whole text in pairs. Their version need not be identical — accuracy and meaning are both assessed.

Try — Run a 60-word dictogloss next class. Read the text twice at natural speed. Give pairs 5 minutes to reconstruct. Compare versions on the board.
