Idea — A discussion task produces language through sustained speaking, but needs a clear structure or it collapses into silence.

Example — A ‘balloon debate’ — each learner defends a famous person’s right to stay in the balloon — gives everyone a stake and a turn.

Try — Design a discussion task with a built-in role for every learner. No one should be able to remain silent and still complete it.
