ELT365 · Day 189 — Opinion-Gap Activities

July 17, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — In an opinion-gap task, learners share personal views — not facts. There is no correct answer, only justified positions.

Example — ‘Should schools ban mobile phones?’ has no right answer. Each learner defends their view and listens to others.

Try — Write one opinion-gap question relevant to your learners’ lives. Add a prompt: ‘Give two reasons for your view.’
