Idea — Krashen’s Input Hypothesis suggests we acquire language from input slightly above our current level (i+1). Graded readers operationalise this — they are calibrated to that zone.

Example — An A2 reader on a familiar topic lets a learner read 15,000 words fluently in an hour, encountering known structures in new combinations.

Try — Ask learners to find a graded reader at their level on a topic they enjoy. Set a weekly reading goal and ask them to report back.
