Idea — Intensive reading means reading closely for detailed understanding of vocabulary, grammar, and argument. It is slow, deliberate, and focused.

Example — Reading a legal contract, noting every clause, is intensive reading at its most demanding.

Try — Give learners one paragraph. Ask them to circle every verb and decide if each is past, present, or future.
