📖 From My Experience
I have been through the immigration line at Sydney Airport (2005), Charles de Gaulle (2017), and Roland Garros in La Réunion more times than I can count. The one that stays with me is CDG in January 2017. It was snowing. Vanessa was waiting. I had come from Bangladesh. I had one bag. The immigration officer asked three questions. I answered in French. I remember thinking: this is working. That feeling — understanding and being understood in a foreign language at a border — is one of the finest feelings a language learner can have.
