📖 From the teacher’s desk: Saint-Pierre is the second-largest town in La Réunion — it has a beach, a market, a harbour, and some wonderful restaurants. Moving here from Sydney, I had to quickly learn all the town vocabulary in French first! Now I love teaching the same vocabulary in English, helping my students describe their own hometowns with pride.
🎯 By the end of this lesson, you can: name 10 places in a town and say where things are.
🔥 Warm Up (1 min)
Think of your town or neighbourhood. What places can you see? 🗺️ Close your eyes and imagine walking down your street. What do you pass?
📖 Learn It (2 min)
“There is a park near my house.”
“I live near the school.”
“There are two supermarkets in my town.”
✏️ Try It (2 min)
Write about YOUR town:
- In my town, there is a _______.
- Near my house, there is a _______.
- I like to go to the _______ because _______.
🗺️ Draw it! Draw a simple map of your street with 3 places labelled in English.
