ELT365 · Day 199 — Writing: process and product

June 22, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — The product approach studies and copies model texts; the process approach treats writing as drafting, revising and editing. Most effective teaching blends them — a model plus room to redraft.

Example — Learners read a sample complaint email (product), then draft, get feedback, and rewrite their own (process).

Try — For your next writing task, add one redraft step. Even a single revision turns one-shot writing into process writing.
