ELT365 · Day 190 — Reasoning-Gap Activities
Idea — Reasoning-gap tasks require learners to process information, draw conclusions, and justify them — not just exchange facts or opinions.
Example — ‘You have a budget of £50 and five guests. Plan the dinner.’ Learners must calculate, prioritise, and argue — all in English.
Try — Design a reasoning-gap task around a budget, route, or schedule problem your learners might actually face.
