Idea — Fluency means communicating without excessive hesitation; accuracy means using language correctly. Teachers must choose which to prioritise in each task — correcting mid-flow kills fluency.

Example — A discussion task aims for fluency: save corrections for the feedback slot. A gap-fill aims for accuracy: correct immediately and explicitly.

Try — In your next speaking task, pick fluency or accuracy — not both. Design your correction strategy around that single goal before the task begins.
