Idea — Ordering tasks ask learners to reconstruct the sequence of events, arguments, or steps from a text — testing comprehension of discourse structure, not just isolated facts.

Example — Learners hear five sentences from a process (how bread is made) in random order and arrange them logically. The task reveals whether they followed the whole text.

Try — Take four consecutive sentences from a text, scramble them, and ask learners to reorder them. Ask: what cohesion device gave each position away?
