Idea — Intensive reading means slow, careful reading for full comprehension: every word matters. It is the basis of detailed comprehension tasks and language analysis work.

Example — Reading a contract clause or a grammar explanation: one missed word can change the meaning entirely. That is intensive reading.

Try — Give learners a short, dense paragraph. Ask them to find two unknown words and guess meaning from context. Then check.
