📖 From the teacher’s desk: My family is wonderfully spread across the world — from Dhaka to Sydney to La Réunion. My partner Vanessa and I are raising our son here in Saint-Pierre, and family vocabulary comes up in our daily life constantly. When children talk about their own families, language becomes real and meaningful.
🎯 By the end of this lesson, you can: name 8 family members in English and introduce your family.

Think of someone in your family. Close your eyes and picture their face! 😊 Now open your eyes — do you know their name in English?
📖 Learn It (2 min)
“This is my mother. Her name is [Maria].”
“I have one brother and two sisters.”
“I don’t have a sister.” / “I’m an only child.”
✏️ Try It (2 min)
Complete about your family:
- My mother’s name is _______.
- I have _______ brother(s) and _______ sister(s).
- My favourite family member is my _______ because _______.
🎨 Draw your family tree! Draw circles and write each person’s English family word next to them.
