โฑ 5 minutes ยท ๐Ÿ“š CELTA-informed ยท ๐ŸŽฏ Cambridge A1

๐Ÿ“– From the teacher’s desk: At my son’s crรจche in Saint-Pierre, the teachers use “Simon Says” in French every morning โ€” “Simon dit: touchez votre nez!” I now play the same game in English at home. Body part lessons with Total Physical Response (TPR) are magical: children learn faster when their whole body is involved.

๐ŸŽฏ By the end of this lesson, you can: point to and name 10 body parts in English.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Warm Up (1 min)

Stand up! ๐Ÿง Jump up and down 3 times. Now freeze! What body parts moved? Let’s find out their names in English!

๐Ÿ“– Learn It (2 min)

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ eyes โ€” the things you see with
๐Ÿ‘‚ ears โ€” the things you hear with
๐Ÿ‘ƒ nose โ€” you breathe and smell

๐Ÿฆถ foot (feet) โ€” you stand on these
๐Ÿ’ช arm โ€” shoulder to hand
๐Ÿฆต leg โ€” hip to foot
๐Ÿซ€ head โ€” your brain is here!
๐Ÿซ back โ€” behind your chest
๐ŸŽต Sing it! “Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes!” (Touch each part as you sing!)

โœ๏ธ Try It (2 min)

๐ŸŽฎ Simon Says! Read each instruction. Do it if it says “Simon says”!

  • Simon says: touch your nose! ๐Ÿ‘ƒ
  • Touch your foot! (โš ๏ธ No “Simon says” โ€” don’t move!)
  • Simon says: wave your hand! โœ‹
  • Simon says: blink your eyes! ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ

Fill in: I have two _______ and two _______. I have one _______ and one _______.

๐Ÿ—๏ธ Answer Key
