Idea — Accuracy means producing language correctly; fluency means producing it smoothly, without unnatural pause. Most learners have more of one than the other. Good lessons develop both, but not at the same moment.

Example — A controlled grammar drill targets accuracy. A 2-minute ‘tell your partner about your weekend’ targets fluency. Running them together undermines both.

Try — Label your next lesson’s speaking activities: A (accuracy) or F (fluency). If all are A, add one free-speaking stage at the end. If all F, add one focused form stage earlier.
