ELT365 · Day 171 — Jigsaw Listening: Information-Gap in Reception

Idea — In jigsaw listening, different groups hear different parts of a text, then pool information. The information gap is real — no group can answer all questions alone.

Example — Group A hears a job interview from the employer’s perspective; Group B hears it from the candidate’s. Together they reconstruct what happened.

Try — Split a two-track dialogue: half the class hears Speaker A’s audio only, half Speaker B’s. They reconstruct the conversation together.
